The best option is to use the built-in Looking For Group tool. This option has some similarities to a dungeon finder, but this feature is for finding other players instead of queueing for a dungeon.
You still have to reach out and chat with people. Also, once your group is together, you all will still need to travel to the dungeon. While this does keep the social aspect, which is very important for an MMO, it also takes longer. When players are trying to get WotLK items as efficiently as possible, the Dungeon Finder came in handy.
