No Dungeon Finder In WotLK Classic and Buy WotLK Classic Gold

Get ready to jump into the new classic expansion.

Blizzard announced a bit ago that Wrath of the Lich King Classic would not have its original feature, the Dungeon Finder. We all know how gamers don’t like change. This decision has come with some heavy criticism from World of Warcraft fans. Many players on Reddit and Blizzard forums have voiced their opinion on the matter.

While it seems like many are against removing this feature, others think this is fine. Some seem to think that the Dungeon Finder was a way to streamline the game and was also a sign of things to come. Wrath of the Lich King is considered by most as World of Warcraft’s best expansion, but it’s when Blizzard started to make the game easier.

For those of you who need a little refresher, let’s go over what the Dungeon Finder is and why Blizzard decided to remove it.

What Is A Dungeon Finder?

Dungeon Finder in World of Warcraft changed how the game was played and how players found one another for dungeons. It was meant to get a group together quickly. The Dungeon Finder allowed you to find players for specific roles and dungeons. Once all players were queued up, the group would instantly teleport to the dungeon.

There was no need to travel to it with a group. This feature was introduced in Wrath of the Lich King but doesn’t seem to be in the Classic version. A lot of dungeons have quests associated with them that offer WotLK classic gold. The Dungeon Finder made completing these quests much quicker.

Why Is The Dungeon Finder Not In WotLK?

Considering that the Dungeon Finder was in the original Wrath of the Lich King expansion, it is a bit weird that it isn’t in Classic. However, Blizzard decided to take out this feature because they felt that it hindered the social aspect of World of Warcraft.

With the introduction of the Dungeon Finder, the game became a lot more convenient and streamlined. There wasn’t any need to actively use chat or the Looking For Group channel to find players. You could just hop in a queue with your desired role and wait for other players. This is the main reason why Blizzard believes that the removal of the Dungeon Finder is better for the game’s health and keeping the social portion still intact.

However, when things start to change and don’t resemble the product that people are used to, they start to get a little bit angry.

Player Feeback

It is hard to tell who is the vocal minority in this situation. There are a lot of players on each side of this argument. Some think that this is a good move and it helps keep the social aspect intact and it is quite enjoyable to use. However, the other side believes that it can alienate some players as some will look for more experienced roles. Also, no dungeon finder can make people flood to a more populated server.

The original Dungeon Finder allowed people from other servers to join the queue, basically allowing the entire World of Warcraft playerbase to have some type of experience with one another. So instead of choosing a server with their friend or a more relaxed server, players might migrate to a mega server. More people mean a better chance to find players which will help you get more WotLK classic gold.

Alternative Ways To Find Groups

For the time being, players will need to use chat or the Looking For Group tool. Sometimes it can be hard to find a party in chat because of spam, but it is still doable. The best option is to use the built-in Looking For Group tool. This option has some similarities to a dungeon finder, but this feature is for finding other players instead of queueing for a dungeon.

You still have to reach out and chat with people. Also, once your group is together, you all will still need to travel to the dungeon. While this does keep the social aspect, which is very important for an MMO, it also takes longer. When players are trying to get WotLK items as efficiently as possible, the Dungeon Finder came in handy.

Conclusion

In short, Blizzard cut out the Dungeon Finder in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic because they wanted players to socialize more. Socializing and meeting up with other players is what makes an MMO special. However, when a feature is cut out that was in the original game, it can be a shock. World of Warcraft fans wanted a classic Wrath of the Lich King experience, sadly, it looks like that has been changed.
