LoL, Valorant, and Other Riot Games Titles Are Coming to Xbox Game Pass

As a subscription service, Xbox Game Pass is constantly expanding. Microsoft’s Netflix-like video game subscription service has towered to heights no other gaming company has ever reached. You could even say that Microsoft has left Sony and Nintendo in the dust regarding providing online services. While it’s true that all three companies offer different things that benefit their consoles, you can’t deny the incredible power that the Xbox wields. Day-one availability for first-party games, easy-to-use cloud streaming, monthly access to a plethora of new and old games alike – it’s like an all-you-can-eat buffet for gamers. Now, Microsoft has set its sights on Valorant, Wild Rift, and LoL accounts owners.

Game Pass Gives Players All League Champions for Free

LoL account owners with Xbox Game Pass rejoice! Any active League of Legends player will now have the ability to get instant access to all current and future champions for the MOBA. This is excellent news for new and old LoL players who hop into Riot Game’s free-to-play online game. As with any F2P title, a lot of the enormous amount of content they have is usually locked either behind a paywall or days/weeks of grinding. By having the Xbox Game Pass, League players will no longer have to be pressured to get all the champs.

League of Legends currently has more than 140 champions on its roster, and Riot isn’t planning on stopping their production of them anytime soon. Again, we’re not exaggerating when we say this is a huge leg-up for any LoL gamer out there. In the case of Valorant, the number of agents it has makes it possible to get them all while grinding. For League of Legends, the roster of champions is so massive now that players would need to drop everything they’re doing and dedicate themselves and their time entirely to the competitive MOBA for months before getting every champ.

Getting All Valorant Agents and XP Boosts with Game Pass

Along with all of the League of Legends champions, the Xbox Game Pass is set to offer players instant access to all agents in Valorant along with XP boosts – you can say that leveling up in Valorant just got a bit better.

It’s possible to unlock every Valorant agent for free now, and since the roster is still slim, it’s easy to get all of the agents with dedicated play. However, even the biggest fans of the tactical shooter will find value in XP boosts as they unlock new cosmetics.

LoL: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics Gets the Spa Treatment

If you think all of the free stuff will end there, it’s not just League of Legends and Valorant getting something out of the Xbox Game Pass. The spin-off titles for League of Legends – Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics (TFT) – will also receive the spa treatment.

The offering for each game varies. For Wild Rift, players will get the same offer as the PC version of League of Legends, where all the champions are unlocked. For Legends of Runeterra, they’ll get Foundation sets unlocked. Finally, for Teamfight Tactics, players will get “select” Little Legends from the subscription.

A Welcome Surprise

Riot Games’ appearance at the Xbox and Bethesda 2022 Games Showcase was a surprise. When the co-founder of Riot Games, Mark Merill, announced that his studio would partner with Xbox Game Pass this year, we didn’t expect they’d be offering subscribers hundreds of dollars’ worth of content. Game Pass Ultimate users will enjoy having all of the Wild Rift champions, League of Legends champions, and Valorant agents. Even Legends of Runeterra and Teamfight Tactics players will get bonuses.

Typically, players will have to purchase these heroes using an in-game currency that takes a long time to earn, or they’ll have to use real money. By opening up these characters to all active Game Pass subscribers, Xbox and Riot Games are removing a significant barrier to entry for their community.

Microsoft Plans to Deepen Their Influence in the PC and Mobile Realm

Microsoft has been aggressively courting PC and mobile players these past few months with their Xbox Game Pass. We’ve already seen Microsoft purchase Activision Blizzard, the publisher behind the famous World of Warcraft and Call of Duty series. This partnership between these two companies may grow further with time, given how enormous Riot Games’ user base is on both platforms.

Valorant and LoL account owners can expect to unlock all champions and agents at the end of 2022 or early 2023, according to Riot’s trailer. For now, there’s no exact date of when this will happen as Riot and Xbox will be revealing more about their partnership in the “next coming months.”
