On this day, a young pilot in Turkey took his very first flight. Fesa Evrensev, the Turkish Pilot was born back in Istanbul in 1878. After his graduation, he decided to pursue his military career and joined Military Academy, from where he was graduated as Lieutenant Cavalry.

This Pilot was destined to fly and was the best student of the class, passed out his final semesters with high evaluation. After starting his career, he was appointed as General manager of Administration of the State Airlines, which further evolved as Turkish Airlines.
Fesa Evrensev held a different position at the Turkish Aeronautical Association and was of the prominent and important figures of the aviation world.

IFALPA also played an important role is the establishment of this day. IFALPA stands for International Federation of Air Line Pilots Association. The Association was formed back in 1948, during the Pilot’s Association conference in London. More than 100 pilots’ associations are associated with IFALPA, representing more than one lakh pilots in the world. IFALPA found it back in 2013 that it is high time now to celebrate a day for all the pilots, as declared the day as the World Pilot Day.
