America’s Cup sailing match takes place between only two teams- the defender and the challenger.

In a recent official announcement, the Long Beach Yacht Club’s team, Stars + Stripes team USA, has withdrawn from the 36th America’s Cup event. The team did not pay the US$300,000 entry fee. But the club did not divulge details on why they chose to withdraw.

Also, Yot Club fans are happy that the club will continue to host the prestigious Congressional Cup as a part of the World Match Racing Tour. This tour starts from May 11 to May 16, 2021.

Stars + Stripes Team USA (USA) is led by Mike Buckley and Taylor Canfield. They are yet to give an update on their boat/crew status. There is a rumor that their continued status is contractual. This has kept them from withdrawing.
